12 Oct Mutual Funds Basics
There are two ways you can utilize ‘Mutual Funds’ tool:
a) Our suggestion and
b)Sector & Fund Family.
– ‘Best Performance’ option constructs portfolio with focus on finding highest performance funds for given risk and considers all mutual funds irrespective of their cost structure. The optimum performance funds are found for each sector.
– ‘Cost/Fee’ option constructs portfolio with focus on finding highest performance funds for given risk for No Load, Load Waived, and ‘C’ Share funds. The optimum performance funds are found for each sector for No Load, Load Waived, and ‘C’ Share funds.
Sector & Fund Family Option:
There are nine Mutual Fund sectors – first you choose either ‘All’ or sectors of choice. There are 914 Fund Families (e.g. BlackRock, Fidelity, Vanguard,..) offering mutual funds. Fund families are alphabetically listed for your convenience. E.g. if you were to select ‘All’ for Sector and ‘Vanguard’ for Fund Family then the output shows the best funds offered by Vanguard for each mutual fund sector.
– We create portfolio recommendation at a selected Broker by the you with the funds from up to 4 selected Mutual Fund Family/Managers only (one option will be ‘All’ Fund Family/Manager) .
E.g. a) in US one can choose TD Ameritrade as a Broker and ‘All’ Fund Family/Manager option or
– Scottrade as a Broker and up to 4 Mutual Fund Family/Managers: e.g. ‘Blackrock,’ ‘Fidelity Investment, ’ ‘Vanguard,’ ‘PIMCO’ as a Mutual Fund Managers and come up with a portfolio recommendations w/ all funds by Fidelity Investments only.
